Lisa Maxwell was born in Memphis but moved around the country during her adolescence. Of all the states she’s lived in, Tennessee, she claims, always pulls her back. It must be the sultry sweetness of the air here. It’s undeniable and comforting. Having studied art history and communications at the University of Memphis, she loves all things Tigers–especially with NBA legend, Penny Hardaway, as head basketball coach. From the Grizzlies to the Vols, she claims the energy at the games is contagious and exhilarating.
There’s so much to see and do across Tennessee, family vacations and adventures are easy to plan. With 102 national parks, including the Great Smoky Mountains and Land Between the Lakes–and, as she says, “some downright tasty dishes from west to east”, it is easy to see why she calls this place home. Tennessee is beautiful year round, but traveling through the hills and mountains during Fall offers spectacular views and tranquility. After sweltering summers, the cool breeze accompanying the season’s change is welcomed by all who live here. Maxwell says these brisk and colorful drives are among her favorite pastimes. She is passionate about her home state and sharing the beauty and wonder of Tennessee.
