St. Louis Park is a well-established, first-ring suburb to the west of Minneapolis. With a population of close to 50,000 residents, the city offers a wide variety of shopping, dining and recreational options. The city is home to the Methodist Hospital and Park Nicollet Clinic and Specialty Center which is the largest of their 24 locations. The award-winning St. Louis Park School District is home to six public schools including a Spanish immersion elementary school. Residents also have community education available for preschool, youth and adults. From the Lennox Community Center, seniors can also participate in classes and outings as part of the Senior Program.
Outdoor activities are popular as well, with the Aquatic Park offering a sand-and-water play area, water slides, swimming, a concession stand and picnic area. Young families enjoy the Oak Hill Splash Pad, and friends gather at the outdoor skate park or to take in an outdoor summer concert at the Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater. There is also opportunity for golfing or nature hikes along the many trails, lakes, ponds and creeks. At the Westwood Hills Nature Center, you’ll find acres of marsh, woods and restored prairie and its variety of birds and wildlife. Winter brings indoor or outdoor ice skating and hockey.
